A COZY ‘IN-BETWEEN’ AT CAFÉ HET PLANTSOEN

Sep 26, 2026

Between his regular exhibitions, Jerry Amsterdam (Jerry Charlton Meije) invites you to a small but powerful stop in the heart of Amsterdam. On October 1, he hosts a special ‘Get Together’ – or, as he likes to call it himself: an open house drop-in evening.

From 5 PM to 11 PM, Café ‘Het Plantsoen’ opens its doors for this intimate exhibition. With roughly ten works on display, Jerry shows how his signature style of abstract linocuts, monoprints, and woodcuts continues to evolve. This selection – one he affectionately calls a “little something in-between” – reveals the transition from strict geometry to playful balance, where white spaces pull the ornaments into depth and colors flow together in sweeping movements, contrasted with fine to coarse hatching.

But this evening is about more than just art hanging on the walls – it’s about meeting. Jerry will be there in person to welcome visitors, share the stories behind the layered acrylics and perspex-cut lines, and simply enjoy the atmosphere together with you. Whether you’ve followed his work since his days as a textile designer or are stepping into his world of abstract printmaking for the first time: this is your moment to walk in, look around, and talk with the artist himself.

Come by for an evening full of color, movement, and good company.
