In Pension Homeland, located in the historic heart of Amsterdam, an exhibition was hosted by Jerry Charlton Meye, better known by his artist name ‘Jerry Amsterdam’. The exhibition focused on linocut and woodcut prints, a craft where each print demonstrates craftsmanship. The diversity and quality of the work attracted a varied audience, from young to old. More than half of the exhibited works were sold. The musical ambiance was provided by ‘The Men From Oz’, where a DJ and a saxophonist created an atmospheric background that enriched the experience without dominating it. This exhibition by ‘Jerry Amsterdam’ was not only a celebration of linocut and woodcut as art forms but also a moment when the community came together to appreciate art and culture in an intimate setting. The success of the exhibition, both artistically and commercially, underscores the vibrant art scene in Amsterdam and Jerry Amsterdam’s undeniable contribution to this landscape.
