The exhibition is officially open! On June 1st, the new show was launched at the atmospheric Café Bruxelles in Haarlem. Following previous presentations in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, and Sounds Haarlem, this exhibition marks a beautiful next step. The layered, abstract prints are displayed across the two floors of this characteristic traditional café and restaurant, creating a unique dynamic between the artwork and the space.
It was an opening in the finest sense of the word: a modest but highly enthusiastic group of visitors found their way to Café Bruxelles. The atmosphere was intimate, and the genuine interest in the linocuts and monoprints was tangible. At a specially reserved table, guests gathered over drinks for warm, engaging conversations about the work, the techniques, and the stories hidden within the layers.
Making the afternoon even more celebratory, several pieces found new owners right then and there. A wonderful compliment to an artistic practice that continuously evolves, balancing expressive, powerful forms with lighter, almost watercolor-like movements.
A Glimpse of the Atmosphere
For those who couldn’t make it—or anyone wishing to relive the afternoon—a few photos of the opening can be viewed below. The exhibition will remain on display for the time being, so please feel free to drop by Café Bruxelles soon to experience the work up close over a good glass of beer or dinner.
